Arua District

Arua is the birthplace of former President Idi Amin.
The district is situated in the Northwestern corner of Uganda that borders both Republic of South Sudan and the Democratic Republic of Congo - DRC. Due to this location, a significant amount of local economic activity is the result of cross-border trade. 

Arua borders Yumbe to the north, Adjumani to the northeast, Amuru to the east, Nebbi to the southeast, Zombo to the southwest, and Maracha to the northwest.

District Headquarters: Arua, 425 kilometres northwest of Uganda's capital Kampala.
