A significant portion of this part of Manafwa district is part of Mount Elgon National Park, a protected natural wildlife reserve.
Manafwa borders Bududa to the north, Tororo to the southwest and Mbale to the
west. The Republic of Kenya lies to the east and south of Manafwa.
District Headquarters: Manafwa, 27 kilometres southeast of Mbale.
