Kisoro district is in the southwest corner of Uganda, bordering the Republic of Rwanda and the
Democratic Republic of Congo.

Mgahinga Gorilla National Park popular for mountain
gorillas, is found here at the border with the Republic of Rwanda. Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
National Park, one of only four national parks in the world with the African
mountain gorilla lies partly here.
Kisoro borders Kanungu to the north, Kabale to
the east, the Republic of Rwanda to the south, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo - DRC to the west.
