Ibanda district in the Ankore sub-region in western, is the home district of businessman Patrick Bitature the proprietor
of Simba Telecom and board chairman of electricity utility company UMEME.

Eng.John Byabagambi, the cabinet minister of works and transport hails from this district and is a member of
parliament (2011-2016) for Ibanda South constituency.
Ibanda borders Kamwenge to the west and north, Kiruhura to the east, Mbarara and Buhweju to the south, and
Rubirizi to the southwest.
District Headquarters: Ibanda, 70 kilometres northwest of Mbarara.
