Gomba district is in central Uganda. It is largely a rural district that was part of Mpigi District until 2010.
It borders Mubende District to the west and north, and five other districts - Mityana to the northeast, Butambala to the east, and Kalungu, Bukomansimbi and Sembabule to the south.
