Bugiri District

Bugiri district is in the Busoga sub-region in Eastern Uganda. This is the home district of National Resistance Movement - NRM's Secretary General Justine Kasule Lumumba who is also the district woman member of parliament, 2011-2016.

The Leader of Opposition in Parliament, Wafula Oguttu also comes from Bugiri where he represents Bukooli West constituency in parliament, 2011-2016.

Bugiri district borders Namutumba and Butaleja to the north, Tororo to the northeast, Busia to the east, Namayingo to the southeast, Mayuge to the southwest and Iganga to the west.

District Headquarters: Bugiri, 77 kilometres east of Jinja.
