Adjumani District is home district of senior politician and retired military
officer Gen. Moses Ali who currently serves as the third deputy prime minister. He's the member of parliament for East Moyo County.
Jessica Eriyo, the Deputy Secretary General of the East African Community and former cabinet minister also hails from Adjumani as well as former
health minister Dr. Christine Ondoa and Christine Dranzoa, the Vice Chancellor
of Muni University, one of the public universities in Uganda.

Adjumani borders Moyo District to the north, South Sudan to the
northeast, Amuru District to the east and south, Arua District to the southwest
and Yumbe District to the northwest. It lies on the southern bank of the River Nile just before it
flows into South Sudan.
District Headquarters: Adjumani, 30 kilometres northeast of Arua, the
largest town in the Northwest sub-region.
